SCC Changelog
The current version of Shadow Copy Cloner™ is 1.1.6.
- Version 1.1.6
- Fixed a problem where invalid changed/modified/accessed dates on a file or directory would prevent SCC from backing up the contents of the containing directory.
- Version 1.1.5
- Eliminated a constraint that caused the “make bootable” process to fail if “bootsect.bak” was missing from a System Reserved partition. It should have been an optional file.
- Version 1.1.4
- Fixed an issue with clock skew for the free trial period.
- Improved clarity of information provided to users in warning boxes.
- Version 1.1.3
- Fixed an issue with the computation of used space on the source drive.
- Fixed a crash that sometimes occurs when populating the reconfigure drives list.
- Added up-front checks to see if the make bootable process will fail so you do not have to wait until the backup is finished to find out.
- Added code to prevent program use by non-administrator users.
- Improvements to error reporting to help us diagnose boot-ability issues.
- Cosmetic changes and spelling corrections.
- Version 1.1.2
- Fixed a bug that caused SCC to crash on startup if a physical disk number could not be found for a drive.
- Version 1.1.1
- Fixed a bug that prevented newly created directories on the target from having their named streams, permissions, attributes, and dates correctly set. This manifested itself on Windows 7 visually in the form of lock symbols appearing on certain file and junction icons on a booted clone. We recommend that you create a completely new clone after up- dating to version 1.1.1, ensuring that your backup has correct directory metadata, even if you have not used SCC 1.1.0. Doing so will ensure that your backup is fully up to date, especially given that we added support for directory named streams and file hardlinks in version 1.1.0.
- Improved feedback for the "make bootable" process so that you are informed when the target drive does not remount afterwards.
- Version 1.1.0
- Backup code has been re-worked to significantly reduce the number of missed files caused by lack of permissions. You should not see any more of these.
- Support for NTFS hard-links has been added, along with support for directory named streams. The changes will be applied on your next backup.
- The ”Apply Everyone ACL” checkbox has been removed as it can’t be done using the new backup method.
- A checkbox has been added so that you can control synchronization, which deletes files on the target drive that no longer exist on the source.
- A checkbox to enable use of the NTFS archive attribute has been added.
- A checkbox to enable low I/O priority has been added for Windows Vista and 7.
- Tools have been added so that you can uninitialize a drive, or clear any SCC configuration data from a drive.
- The installation process has been changed. Only one installer is needed now, and it installs as a fat/universal binary so that SCC can be run on both x86 and x64 systems without confusion. Manual un-installation of version 1.0.x will be necessary before running the 1.1.x installer.
- Version 1.0.2
- Aborting a clone must be confirmed.
- The SCC window can now be resized.
- A progress bar was added.
- Version 1.0.1
- Fixed a bug that prevented public beta users from taking advantage of the 30-day free trial when version 1.0.0 was released.
- Version 1.0.0
- Initial release after public beta.
